Jessica’s story – Baby Loss Awareness Week

Jessica’s story

Jessica’s story

Our angel Jacob is our loved and cherished firstborn baby. He was stillborn at 31 weeks due to COVID, which had infected my placenta and blocked blood flow to him. The day after I finished isolating, I noticed reduced movements, so we went to hospital. That’s when we heard those dreaded words, ‘There is no heartbeat’. Jacob was born 2 days later, on 14th December 2021 at 10:33pm, weighing 1550g and was 45cm in length.

I look back at my birthing and hospital experience with joy as they were the days I met Jacob and spent time with him. We dressed him, took hand and footprints, a lock of his hair, and read and sang to him. These memories I will cherish forever. Since Jacob died, my love for him grows daily. I love being reminded of him and I am proud to be his mummy.

He will forever be in our hearts and minds, and we will grieve him forever because we will love him forever.
