Laura’s story – Baby Loss Awareness Week

Laura’s story

Laura’s story

In January 2018 I was rushed into theatre for what traumatically became life-saving surgery for myself to resect over 17 feet of my small intestine due to a volvulus. I was 7 months pregnant at the time with our daughter Isabella and tragically she lost her life that night as a result of septic shock and the extremely critical condition that I was in. She was delivered the following day via caesarean section whilst I was still in a coma and fighting for my life on a ventilator. I have many challenges to meet health-wise now that I live with short bowel syndrome but the most painful of it all has been losing our beautiful little girl…. A double image of her incredible big brother. The loss of Bella will forever leave a void in our lives, all that we can do is navigate our way through this journey, living with a part of our hearts forever in Heaven.

We will always say her name proudly and honour Isabella’s memory.

‘Forever mine… Forever thine… Forever ours’
