02 Oct Terri’s Story
After three girls, all six years between them, I fell pregnant with my fourth baby very quickly after my third. There was only three months between me giving birth and falling pregnant again. I had a fairly normal pregnancy and at 20 weeks I found out we were having our first beautiful boy. I was ecstatic. After three girls, it was a dream come true.
Fast forward to 37 weeks, I remember having my show but nothing progressing further. After a check-up I went home and went about my day. The following day, late afternoon, I noticed I hadn’t felt the baby kick much at all. Again, not thinking much, I went to bed. I woke up shortly after in labour, and it was strong. Racing to the hospital with excitement, we got there, into the labour suite, and the next five minutes changed my life forever.
The words, “I’m so sorry Terri, we can’t hear a heartbeat,” after checking with the scan also… the shock was like nothing I’d ever felt. My world came crashing down in a matter of minutes.
A few moments later I gave birth to my beautiful boy, Luca.
