29 Sep Bethany’s story
I found out I was pregnant at around 2 weeks. One week later I was bleeding, I went to hospital and was told I had a miscarriage (they confirmed this with a pregnancy test).
I continued testing and everyday the test was showing a strong positive. I was told “you’re still pregnant.”
But, nothing was showing on my scans. They did a blood test to check my hormone levels which came back high so they decided to repeat the blood test in 48hrs. My result increased but only slightly indicating an ectopic pregnancy. I was offered 3 options and I chose surgery on the basis that my doctors didn’t believe it could be an ectopic pregnancy as I had no symptoms and there was nothing on my scan. The plan was they would go in, check and come straight out.
When I woke up I was told I had been very lucky. My 6-7 week old baby was growing in my left fallopian tube. They removed my tube and my baby.
I had no symptoms.
