Demi’s Story

Demi’s Story

When trying for our first child, we were delighted to fall pregnant after a couple of months. The tiredness, tenderness, hunger – it was all present and thriving. I had even started to show a little plump pouch. But the first scan came around at week 13: no heartbeat. Baby had stopped growing at week 9. “I’m afraid it’s not going to be good news today.”

Nearly a year on, after months of negative tests, we were finally pregnant again. After a nerve-wracking full-term pregnancy, our daughter arrived. Our rainbow.

We decided soon after that we wanted to keep expanding our family. When she was 5 months old, we were pregnant again. However, history repeated itself and I had another missed miscarriage at 12 weeks.

A couple of months later, another positive test. And again, another missed miscarriage. Three babies, all stopped beating at 9 weeks.

After one more loss at 6 weeks, we decided one more try and we were done.

I now have my son. He decided to stick around and is perfectly happy and healthy.
